Getting Ready for Rome!

Whew!!! We finished up the school year right on schedule and completed everything we had planned to do. We had a very special school year in Creation to the Greeks. We learned a lot and will have great memories for years to come. What to do now? Start planning for the next school year! This is so much fun for me, but it's difficult to know where to begin! All of the books look so interesting. Rome to the Reformation, at first glance, looks like the work load will be increased with a heavier science load. That's a good thing! The kids are ready for bigger challenges.

Although the My Father's World teacher's manuals are set up for minimal work for the teacher, I like to put a few things together over the summer to make our school days flow even better. Using the Start Write program I will be putting together copywork verses incorporating
all of the memory verses for the year, both in manuscript and cursive. This is a bit time consuming, but was so helpful this past year. I also found notebooking sheets on Currclick to put together workbooks for English From the Roots Up. We like this format better than keeping a card file. I have already read through Augustus Ceasar's World and plan to read through most of the books over summer (except for the read-alouds). Again, a bit more time consuming, but very beneficial.

Here is a look at all of those great books:

Sparky Camp

Grace earned a day at AWANA Sparky Camp! It was a fun Mother-Daughter day for us, full of field games, crafts, singing, hiking, and climbing.
